Lousy service AND a rip-off!

<p>This is one of the last places that one would want to have ANY business dealings with! My wife took her sewing machine in to have the belt replaced and specifically asked for a quote before any work was done on it. After 2 weeks we had still not heard anything from them. I then telephoned them and was told that the machine was ready (no quote and no notification that the job had been done). I was also told that the cost would be R720 - this included a "service" which had NOT been requested. I was told that they "automatically" service any machine that comes in. Why were we not told this? After much arguing we then decided to go in and collect the machine to find that the service part of the bill was scratched out and suddenly we were being charged R500 labour to replace a belt - about a 10 minute job. The staff and manager were sullen and started becoming ****** so we decided to pay and get out. They told us that they'd been in business for 127 years - where they get their customers heaven knows. We will not be back to them and I'd suggest that if you have any sewing machine repairs that need doing then go further on Google and find somewhere else!</p>
