Cannot close an account

Customer service is absolutely awful. I have been asking for weeks now to have my account closed. Can hardly get through to anyone on the phone, and they have been unhelpful when I have gotten through. By email one just gets useless replies, and no further towards closing the account. In the meantime I'm expected to keep paying for a service I do not want.
