Not the Experience I Expected from a Professional Salon

I visited AFRODIVA NATURAL HAIR salon for a protein treatment and unfortunately left feeling disappointed and deeply concerned about the level of service. As a customer, I expected a professional, informed, and caring approach—especially from a salon that specialises in textured and natural hair.

There was no clear explanation of the steps involved in the treatment, which left me feeling confused and unsure about what was being done to my hair. My hair wasn’t properly detangled, my scalp was left dry and irritated, and I felt that basic hair care protocols were neglected.

When I raised these concerns directly with the salon, instead of receiving understanding, I was essentially told that because I asked for a specific treatment, I should have already known what it involved. I was also told that explanations are only given to clients who undergo assessments—something I wasn’t offered as a first-time customer.

To be told that a refund couldn’t be offered because the team “followed process” misses the point entirely. Hair care isn’t just about procedure—it’s about attentiveness, communication, and making every client feel cared for. Sadly, that wasn’t my experience.

I hope this review encourages the salon to reflect on how they treat new clients and prioritise clarity, empathy, and customer satisfaction moving forward.
