Afriworld, Moveme / Ebernezer Stinks

The only reason why I picked one star is because I needed to write my review and the only way I was able to do so was by ticking a star. This company is bad, bad, bad. ********** and chancers. From the quote process down to the execution of their services...liers and common *******. We requested a a quote for the relocation from Trichardt to Stellenbosch. Extra amount of R1495. 00 was added to the quote pick up in Bloemfontein for a antique lounge suite. On the email communication the pick up was supposed to take place on the 26/27 June. On Tuesday the 29 June 2021 no pick up was done to date. Insurance intransit of R 2587.00 was added to the quote. Eventhough the move never took place Deposit was of R8500. 00 was paid to confirm the booking of a removal vehicle of which we requested photos of just to confirm the real deal. After the deposit was paid we received an email from Afriworld that their sisters company Moveme will be doing the move. The company that pitched up yesterday on the 30th June 2021 was not Afriworld nor Moveme but a third company Ebernezer Logistics. Thus being one of the companies we dit NOT want to make use of! This was a shared load. So they had a load already in the moving vehicle taking up a quarter of the trucks space. I've send a fully detailed inventory list to Afriworld. From the start when this moving vehicle pulled up to our townhouse, we knew this vehicle would not be sufficient. My husband went outside together with our son in law. I then proceeded to investigate myself. The guys of the moving company was not wearing their masks, ******** offense punishable by law. I went to the back of the lorrie, inside the lorrie two guys where moving the previously loaded furniture. One guy was sitting on top of a single door fridge. Astonished about this view I asked the gentlemen is that a fridge you are sitting on top of. His answer Yes...and he proceeded by getting down on top of a coffee table wearing safety shoes. I then realised that these guys has NO respect for those furniture, how will they treat and handle my belongings and furniture. My husband then asked them to leave, as this was not the vehicle and company we agreed upon. If we allowed them to load our furniture where would they've put everything. When my husband contacted Thys the owner of Afriworld, he actually underestimated our intelligence by asking my husband if this was my husband's expert advise on what could be loaded inside this vehicle. But not only is and was this both our professional, skilled and expert experience that the vehicle was not sufficient and large enough. This was our furniture, we accumulated for the past 32 years. We most definitely will know the space needed! Before sending the vehicle back we've discussed that this was not the vehicle (photos) we booked and the liability if anything should happen on the road. Accident, high jack, theft...who will carry the liability. Afriworld, Moveme or Ebernezer? The guys employed with the company not adhering to Covid regulations, putting us at risk by contracting the virus. Moving is a lot of touching furniture etc. These guys would move in a small space where we reside. And al four of them was cramped into the small cab space of the truck. Afriworld was the company issueing the quote and also the contract? Now they are shuffing all responsibility of on the owner of Moveme/Ebernezer- Sachin. Gerhard from Afriworld says that Ebenezer logistics was liquidated a very long time ago and that Moveme took over all the business. But the vehicle was branded Ebernezer Transport. All four of the employees had brand new blue shirts with Ebernezer embroidered on the front-in red! The gentleman that came into the house to inspect the inventory had documentation in his hand with the Ebernezer Logo. So my question is how can a company like Ebernezer ve liquidated and on their website they are fully functioning and doing business no affiliations/partnerships with other companies mentioned. We actually went forward to proof this companies functionality by requesting a quote. And received a quote with banking details etc.

Gerhard and Thys integrity and honesty is a serious and honorable value. You guys are bad, bad, bad! Sies man.

Me and my husband have been unemployed since last years first lockdown. We didn't even pay this money out of our own pocket, but our daughter used her savings.

These gentlemen ignores our telephone calls and emails. They're so busy scheming and collaborated with 'other' companies, even the friendly Sybil who assisted so nicely! Silence

Hope this will help and assist another person when they're thinking of using Afriworld, Moveme /Ebernezer.
