Afriworld keeps information from customers

I contacted Afriworld Removals for my move from Gauteng to Eastern Cape. I saw their website and wanted to ensure that my move would be managed by a known company with a web presence. What I didn’t know and what nobody at Afriworld communicated to me at any point, was that my move was contracted out to another independent moving company. Although it appears in the fine print that they can sub-contract, they told me that ‘their person’ at the warehouse would contact me, suggesting that person worked for Afriworld, one would think.

It turned out that the company that finally moved my furniture, and did a very poor job at it, was completely independent from Afriworld. It would have been nice as a customer to have been informed of this before monies were paid. I felt I had no choice in the matter, because information was kept from me.

I do not think it is acceptable to make decisions on customer’s behalf, keep that info hidden, but be happy to receive the money. All I wanted was honesty to allow me, as the customer, to make an informed decision.
