Think twice before booking - really read those Ts&Cs and look for hidden costs

Booking through Afristay - you need to really read between the lines in the Ts&Cs. I made a booking (to include here - I have made multiple bookings through Afristay and this has been the worst), I was charged and invoiced via the website for the stay and this then had gone through to the host. The host then sends me another invoice which is inclusive of a cleaning fee and a refundable breakage deposit which then upped the invoice by R2000. I dont know about anybody else but when I make a holiday booking I do this with a specific budget in mind. Afristays systems need to change in order for customers or clients to be invoiced the correct amount and the full amount so that you know what you are agreeing to and not be surprised by "hidden costs" which in their Ts&Cs states that "any extra or additional fees is to be paid directly to the host as prior to your payment the site has stated that these fees are payable whether included in the quote or not" Im not sure how this can be allowed since one does not know about any extra costs or how much these costs will be and in addition you do not receive these till after the fact - so you are already bound to the "strict" cancellation fees should you want to cancel. I have unsubscribed from Afristay and will not be making any more bookings via this site.
