Shady business practices,Refund issues,poor customer service-READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING

I wish there was a 0 rating. I have had the worst experience with this company! I created this account to write this review!

I found a place, paid a deposit-01/08/2018. The host canceled on us, due to an alleged leak on the roof which was okay with me..life happens.. - 02/02/2019 I elected to get a refund, after being shown alternatives which are not suitable 06/02/2019. Afristay consultant gave me the host's contact details, I do not know if I am expected to chase up this issue.I did not alter my booking or cancel and everything was done through their site including payment.

I did a bit of digging and then found messages on the sites inbox system showing that the host canceled the booking on the same day I inquired about the property.Yet Afristay still drove the payment process to their bank account- 01/08/2018

They Are even in contravention of their own t&c's, snippet from: https://www.afristay.com/terms/

50. In the event of a Host cancelling a confirmed booking made on this Website, Afristay will: 50.1. make full remittance of such amounts as it may have received from the Guest; 50.2. as soon as reasonably possible communicate the Hosts cancellation of the confirmed booking to the Guest;

If they knew the host canceled on 1 August last year, why did they even accept payment and then tell me a month before the time that they have canceled?

As far as I am concerned everything was done/paid through this company,I did not cancel or alter anything and I am still awaiting my refund.

BECAREFULL WHEN BOOKING WITH THIS SITE!
