Afristay is the ****tiest. I made a booking a few months ago with their help, oh how i regret it. The booking was made three weeks prior to the date. I wanted to do something nice for my ailing mother by taking her to Magersfontein Sygnature Boutique Hotel, for a quiet getaway. Little did i know just how greedy and unapologetic the lot are.

Upon realizing that my mom and I would not be able to stay at the guest house, due to her illness, i attempted to cancel the booking. Mind you it was now exactly 14 days prior to the date of our booked stay. First i was ignored by the guest house receptionist, then by Afristay, for days leading up to the booked date. I wondered if the guest house and Afristay were in cahoots with intentions to keep my money, and i may have been right. The receptionist told me Afristay had asked them while stalling with my money, whether they wanted to be paid for the booking or not and, of course they said yes. I had made a full payment of R 2000 for a 1 night stay at the hotel/guest house. After numerous attempts to speak to the admin at Afristay, i was contacted 3 days before the date of my booking, telling me that i had forfeited my hard earned money. Afristay had a full 14 days to still make profit from the room i so desperately needed to cancel, but they decided to be greedy by keeping my money. They probably did get a new booking for the same room.

Afristay managed to keep my money claiming that the cancellation was made too late, something that was not my fault or error. They ripped me off and I hope anyone who's thinking of using them should rethink this. Bunch of ******s.
