POOR SERVICE AND *********** MANAGER

On the 02 December 2023 I went to Afrimat Lyttleton to buy dumbrocks. There were two security personnel on the entry side I told them the reason for my coming there, I was directed to go by the office which was already closed for a year end function. I was then redirected to the sales office which they directed me to first park my car where parking lot was marked by white stones. No OHS regulation was practise issuing a reflector. I entered the sales office made a purchase and left. I found a gentleman who identified himself as Asanda he was very helpful and professional throughout the transaction.

On the 07 December 2023 I came with my uncle in his bakkie for collection on the dumbrocks I purchased. Upon arrival at the entrance there were 4 security personnel who were very rude ordering me to get out of the car. One came to the bakkie on passenger side rudely said we are many and must get off the car. I then asked why we must park outside because I was there 5 days ago with my car to buy dumbrocks and was never told not to enter, I went out of the car left my uncle in the car. As I approached the sales office, they started screaming at me hey! hey!I was about to climb the staircase entering sales office to make a purchase, one security guy Benson entered with a reflector and said I must wear a reflector I asked why, he said it’s a law. I asked what that law says he looked at me and said with a militant tone “put it on”. I refused as it was dirty, and he could not explain what that law was, did not know why I must put it on he left with that bad attitude. I was sitted entered another lady who said that evil one referring to the security who left to call the supervisor. The supervisor came and never greeted me and told me he will ask the security to explain why I must wear it what he must do. I told both men that was safety measure and is my safety only important after I am in that office seated then they do not know what they refer to as law, that law must be adhered to daily to all customers. in all these 5 men came in and out of that sales office harassed and bul**** at me including their *********** manager who chased me away. How do you impose law that you do not know what it says to you Afrimat OHS officer 1st before you even instill it on me as a client. Surely this is demonstration your manager is *********** no training hence all the defence and acknowledge poor service as a mistake and method to disrespect a client, being rude and disrespectful, with no name tag are attributes of an OHS officer with no training in Afrimat. At a time of activism against gender-based violence 5 men in Afrimat bul**** and violated my right to make a purchase and humiliated me scolding me after 3hrs punishment. How do you chase a client and let her stand those hours and instruct your subordinate to maltreat her as if that is your father’s company.

Of all these rude men do they even know what this company vision and mission is because the David manager could not demonstrate any of the company values, Trust, Accountability. Integrity, respect, safety and customer satisfaction. The manager said they made a mistake and would fix that by bullying harassing a customer in front of his *********** subordinates who are alleged to have caused an accident wherein Oupa was wrongly dismissed. As I stood by the gate 2 guys working there pass as it was knock off time approached me and said mommy these guys are malicious, they do this bad service to blacks. They are alleged to be rude with their bully supervisor that is why they called the manager. This is evident they humiliated me and bullying because that is a norm there.

The manager came he never greeted me and just asked me he hear I don’t want to wear reflector and I asked him who he was he said he was David and I referred him to those that told him why he came and he told me I must leave and not be help and I requested that since they are not consistent with their rules my uncle was wearing they must let him buy I left and we wited 3hrs outside waiting in a punishment mode and as we left security guys started scolding me and laughing cause all staff already left.

Acknowledging by that manager they made a mistake, and he can only command me to wear that dirty reflector as per OHS clear indication no problem-solving skills or conflict management skill hence using his powers to humiliate and please perpetrators by denting Afrimat. I told him I will not submit to their disrespect, humiliation and bullying over their incompetencies and I left for them to service my uncle. It is my wish Afrimat Lyttleton could revisit their organisational governance and management commitment. This statement from Afrimat website as per my experience on 07 dec 2023 may be questionable. "We inspire growth by consistently delivering solutions through the empowerment of our people, and our customers.

I am aware of the this OHS Act: We consider an employee's training and capabilities in respect of health and safety before assigning a task to an employee; and (e) ensure that work is performed under the general supervision of a person trained to understand the hazards associated with the work and who has the authority to ensure that the precautionary measures laid down by the employer are implemented.
