Selling Puppy with Hip Dysplasia

I bought a puppy from Afrika Boerboele for R8000. They were supposed to be one of the leading boerboel breeders in the country.<br> <br> The puppy struggled to walk at the age of 5 months. I took the puppy to the Vet, the vet took x-rays of the pelvic region and diagnosed the dog with severe hip dysplasia.<br> <br> Hip dysplasia is an inherited health condition and this is why it is so important that breeders only breed with dogs that does not show any form of hip dysplasia.<br> <br> I informed the owner of Afrika Boerboele of the diagnoses and she simply started shouting at me, blaming me due to me feeding the dog Royal Canin Giant. Royal Canin dog food is the recommended dog food by most breeders and vets.<br> <br> One would expect that buying a dog for R8000 from a prestigious breeder would not have any inherited health conditions.<br> <br> I am taking this matter further and will be reporting Afrika Boerboele to the SABT.
