Save yourself. Do not move to an Africrest Building !!!!!

If you know what’s good for you and your mental health, you will not move to an Africrest Building. I have been living at the Leo Apartments in Marshaltown for almost a year now, and I regret to say I moved into a bigger space and renewed my lease.

Let’s start from the beginning. I app**** for a bachelor and I was told that I would live in a temporary apartment for a month. I paid a deposit which was fine but when the time came for me to move into the bachelor, I had to pay more of the deposit. How I also don’t know.

Any time goes by xap, I’d pay rent kahle had a month or two where I struggled financially we all do. The months were I struggled with rent I’d be locked out of my apartment and had no electricity, no matter what kind of agreement you make with the office. Even when you make the agreement, still no electricity and you always live in fear of the fact that you will come home after a long day at work and find your apartment locked.

I remember I went to my graduation on April 11 and I had used my salary to get my graduation stuff together. I tried making an agreement with the office to pay on the 15nth because I knew my mom always had money to give me on my graduation day. I had to do my makeup on the passage for light because I didn’t have electricity. Nakhona the security chased us and said we cannot be on the hallway. I ended up attending my graduation with no makeup. When I came back from my graduation, my apartment was locked and I had to go to the office to beg them to open for me.

Africrest is nonsense xem. I will forever regret the decision of moving here.

I decided to move into a 1 bedroom because things got better for a little while, hhayi I fooled myself. I lost my job and I was told that I needed to pay the penalty, like how. I was told that I needed to send proof of my unemployment to give me a discount on terminating my lease. Batho bamodimo Anginayo leyo mali. I’m still locked in my apartment afraid to even go for interviews because I will come back to locks changed or my key not working. Honestly, ngiphila kabuhlungu I’m just begging God that they evict me because this is no way to live. I now have no electricity and water. I’ve tried making partial payments and making agreements, the staff does not want to hear anything from me. No agreement nothing.

I am honestly so hurt and don’t want to be here anymore. I tried online jobs and I’m getting funds on the 25th, it’s now the 23rd and I don’t have water and I will not for the next 2 days.

I am so hurt. Honestly save yourself from The Leo Apartments. I am not sure about other buildings but The Leo Apartments is the pits. Very inconsiderate and honestly the worst place I’ve ever lived in. We might say it’s beautiful and all but don’t fall for it. Everyone behind those closed doors are crying and fed up. Everyone wants to leave. People move in and out everyday. I honestly don’t want to be here anymore😔😔

So let me continue. I was locked out of my apartment last night. I came home and it was locked, mind you I arrived at 9pm. When I tried speaking with the receptionist I was told to send an “email” at 9 pm. I didn’t have anywhere to go or how to get there. I am so tired of The Leo. Africrest properties are honestly the pits guys. Do not stay at the Leo Apartments. Save yourself 😭 I repeat save yourself😔
