Refund from The Legacy Apartments in Oaklands (Propficient Property Management)
When I moved into the Legacy Apartment (Propficient Property Management) in Oaklands last year August 2024 as one of its first tenants as it was new apartments, they were very welcoming, but my experience upon moving out has been extremely disappointing. I have been struggling to receive my refund despite sending several emails and making follow-up calls with no response.
The issue began when I received the Utility Statement and noticed that I had been double-charged for parking and utilities, which was already included in my last month’s rent for August 2025. The refund initially paid to me was far less than what was due, and the amount was unacceptable, so I had to dispute it. On Monday, 22 September, I personally went to their offices in the Complex with the statement they had issued. After reviewing and reconciling it, they acknowledged the error. However, to date, I am still waiting for my refund to be processed.
This experience has caused unnecessary frustration and inconvenience. I caution future tenants to be very careful, as it appears they do it deliberately to charge multiple fees when moving out and make it difficult to recover refunds and risk withholding tenants’ hard-earned money.
