Africrest properties is a ****

Don't rent from that company. They held my furniture when I wanted to move out last year September. They still have it. The reason being is that I didn't serve them a notice. Even after I explained that I was unemployed. They've also held my deposit. Now they are saying I owe them R3000 which they're blacklisting me for.

Hi Lindiwe,  The matter was investigated further, and the following was found: You only formally gave The Leo team 2 days’ notice to move out yet the letter from your employer stating unemployment was dated a month prior to your communication. The notice period as per your signed lease is 1 month. The team notified you of this breach of contract and explained the contractual obligations and after conducting a financial assessment it was shown that you were in a position to pay.

I'm not disputing that I didn't serve 1 month's notice. However I don't understand how I owe the company R3000 when you have seized furniture worth R15 000 and have kept my deposit which is about R2000! You are being unreasonable.
I also don't understand how I was "in a position to pay" when I proved that I was unemployed at the time. Was I supposed to force to pay rent and starve???
