Funeral claim unpaid

My husband and I have a funeral policy with African Unity life and after our mother passed away on the 31 July, we sent our claim through on Tuesday the 3 August 2021 and we were told to expect payment between 24 to 48 hours and until today no payment has been made when we contact them for follow up they say that they will pay as soon as possible. when and how must we burry our loved one when they are holding up our funds?
