The System

On 15th February 2018, my vehicle was in an accident that was 100% the fault of the other driver. African Recovery Services, acting behalf of Telkom after a few months offered a settlement agreement of 60% of the cost to fix my vehicle. Whilst I thought it unfair, I was advised to accept the offer, which I did on 18th May 2018. I was told that it would take 30 working days for the settlement to be paid to me. I have just received a sms that the amount agreed upon was paid into my account on 10 July 2018, (37 week days later).

The inefficiency from African Recovery Services delayed the payment from Telkom. Telkom as a service provider charges interest on late payments. Should I not also be able to claim interest?

African Recovery Services and Telkom have absolutely no sense of professionalism and respect for themselves, the industry in which they operate or the people they “think” they serve. The arrogance and rudeness was appalling.

To add to the injustice, I moved house on 31st May 2018 and have been trying to get my Telkom Land Line moved to my new address. To date, this has still not happened. Yet Telkom bills me for services that I have not enjoyed since 31st May 2018.
