Unfairly treated

<p>A few weeks ago I checked into the African pride hotel in Melrose Arch for the weekend. I booked through a online booking agency & paid my accomodation bill upfront. My partner & I enjoyed the weekend in the surroundings of Melrose Arch. Upon check out, I left early to attend to a urgent matter. My partner stayed at the hotel & had lunch. After lunch she informed the restaurant staff that she would lie to have her luggage loaded into a taxi & check out. A member of hotel staff then informed he of what the outstanding balance was for all extras during our stay. She settled the bill in cash.</p> <p> </p> <p>A few weeks after this I received notification from my bank that my account was debited for R1500. I asked the bank to investigate this as i had no knowlege of this transaction. A few days later a futher R1400 was debited again. Both these unauthorized debits wer at African Pride. I brought it to the attention of management there. After days of deliberation & several calls I was told that ther was nothing they could do as i had no proof that i paid.</p> <p> </p> <p>As a seasoned traveller this has left an ugly after taste, I question the integrity & credibility of the front desk & hotel staff. I previously referred any visiting guest to the coutry to this hotel based on the service & location. I doubt I will do this again after my experience. I was forced to cancel my bank card & now await feedback from my bank.</p>
