AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

We made a booking via booking.com, all the photos looked good etc. But when we arrived the area the guesthouse is situated in is run down and it just feels unsafe. We decided to have a look at the room in any case. We had to make full payment before we could go and view the room. The room was run down and dirty, the guest house is not well kept. It is a 4-star establishment, apparently. Not sure how these star ratings are monitored. We decided to go somewhere else. We had to find a new place to stay, this was difficult as it was the weekend of the Ironman competition. 24-26 Jan 2020.

We contacted African Dreams B&B a couple of days later and asked if we could get a refund. The booking.com site stated that there will be no refund. However the management of African Dreams B&B agreed to a refund. All of this happened at the end of January. They promised the refund by end Jan, and then again by the 25th Feb. Today is the 26 Feb and no refund.

Avoid this establishment at all costs.

They were also sneaky enough to let the review time, lapse on the Booking.com website, so I cannot give them a bad rating. They are sneaky.
