Why pay double the amount

I bought goods with Beares Furniture Shop and had a query with them and African Bank was financing Beares then. When Beares closed my query was still not resolved and started receiving calls from African Bank and also and could not resolve my query and decided to sell my account to DMC for double the amount am owing them. I need African Bank to tell me why must I pay double the amount and why my query is not resolved.
