Unsolicited sales call / using my info without my consent

This morning received a sales call on my cell phone, for African Bank from number ********** 600. The person had my name and number details. When I asked where they got my information from, they said from my bank (which is not African Bank). I responded saying I had not authorized anything like that, to which the agent rep**** saying perhaps I didn’t realise that I had agreed to my info being shared. This is just one of a whole bunch of calls robocalls SMS’s etc I get, and decided enough is enough. This unsolicited contact and access to my info without my consent is unacceptale and additionally does not win any positive view from my side ito the company involved. If anything it would ensure I’d never use their services. 1 (slightly) plus point compared to most spam calls - the agent was professional enough to give me their name, and say where my info had (supposedly) come from. The agent is doing their job. The company is at fault!

African Banks response is “we can’t get hold of you” 1) No missed calls or voice messages on my phone from African Bank! 2) No SMS’s from African Bank! 3) No emails from African Bank! Perhaps ask your sales team for help - they didn’t have any trouble reaching me previously (aka the reason for my complaint) I’m then ask me to call a call centre, with no ref or name to speak to (and at my cost and time) to give details about a complaint that I have already given here. What more can I tell them except to not call me again - everything else is listed here. All I can then conclude is: - They have no real interest in the complaint, and are just going through the PR motions - OR the people responding here either don’t understand the complaint, or are not empowered to do anything about it
