Unauthorized debits

I got an sms this morning stating that African Bank wants to debit my account. At present I don't have anything with African Bank. I called African Bank call centre and the consultant tells me to go into the Branch and query this. She cannot give me more information besides that the reference number does match my details. I was told to go to the Branch and query this. Firstly this is an inconvenience to me because I must now take time to go and sit at the Branch and query something I have never authorized to, secondly the thought that African Bank cannot perform security checks of the account holders or people applying for Loans is beyond utter bull****. As a bank African Bank supposed to verify the account and account holder, how did I wind up being on someone's account to be debited between R350 to R4000 as per the sms. Is African Bank so concerned with getting sales that they are neglecting their security checks? This is bull****
