*******

I have a current African Bank loan for almost 2 years now. The outstanding balance of my loan is R40,935.

I requested a settlement letter. African bank send me a settlement letter - stating my outstanding balance is R40,935 and settlement amount is R69.207. This is crazy not even making sense - how can this even possible that the settlement can be so much more than the outstanding balance?

I have made contact with the NCR and they request a copy of my contractual agreement and the statement of account and the settlement letter, to investigate as they also feel you outstanding balance cannot be R40,934 but to settle the loan it cost R69,207

No you guys are not attending to this matter> Hi So my loan started Febr 2016. Principle loan amount R75,440 over a 60 month (5 year) team with a total repayable amount of R157,751 correct? This means that the difference between R157 751(total) - R75,440 (principle amt) = R82,311 (interest for the 5 years). So split this amount R82,311 over 5 years gives you a annual interest amount of R16,462 per year. So my total payments as per statement since Mar 2016 - April 2018 (about 2 year +) = R63,200.60. So this means should I continue with monthly installments I will have a outstanding balance + interest of R94,551 correct? (157,751 total amount - 63,200.60 paid so far = R94,551) So if my current outstanding amount is R40,935 without interest for the rest of the remaining 4 years - how can my settlement amount be R69,201???? So the consultant said according to the statement and system I have not been charge interest for a whole year being since May 2017 untill April 2018. So if this is correct then the amount of R16,462.22 interest which is one years interest should be added to my closing outstanding balance of R40,935, making it a outstanding amount of R57,397...... I still dont understand how it can be R69,201 Please can you guys resolve this as I would like to settle thius account. I am also taking this up with the NCR and need African bank to send me a copy of my contract and a full statement of account since the start of this loan as the NCR would like to investigate this too?
