Ridiculously Greedy ******* with Terrible Service

I have loans with African Bank dating back to 2012. During 2015, due to unforseen circumstances, I had no choice but to go under debt review. In 2016, I was retrenched & informed African Bank accordingly. They told me to submit various documents to prove this which I did (more than once). In the interim, I got my pension and told them that I wanted to settle my accounts as I was now unemployed. They sent me settlements, but these were almost as much as I had borrowed (despite the fact that I've been paying these accounts for 3 - 4 years). I sent them a settlement offer on each loan & told them that I felt entitled to a discount because I was settling the accounts much earlier. In the meantime I was in regular contact with their insurance department because I was told that if I'm still unemployed after 6 months - then the insurance will pay out. From August 2016 to date, I am still awaiting a response from their insurance dept. I did however continue to pay the debt review payments but at the end of March I had no more of my pension money left and could no longer pay. (All the while, I was in regular contact with them to try and get them to lower the settlement amounts - but no response). Eventually in June 2017, after numerous mails & calls, I was desperate & sent a mail to their Consumer Advocate's office. Within a day, I received a call in which they basically told me I couldn't deal with the consumer advocate until I had dealt with general staff to try resolve the matter (which is what I had been trying to do since August 2016). I have now done a detailed study of each of my accounts & seen that to date, I have paid back all the capital advanced as well as more than R200 000 in interest over the various accounts. I feel that I did everything to keep my side clean, I kept informing them that there would be a point where I would not be able to make anymore payments. As for their insurance department, I have yet to have a response regarding the possibility of the insurance taking care of these acccounts. If it's up to African Bank - you will be indebted to them for the rest of your life if you are not able to keep up payments, regardless of the circumstances which you face.

Reviewer Update
So, they responded (please note the sarcasm)... took my details, didn't really understand what my issue was, told me to send documents, mails etc... but here we are. I am still no further than I was on 01 Aug. I have had numerous smses in the meantime, but still no answers to solving my problem. I have requested an appointment with someone in management so that I can sit down & discuss the matter face to face (as I am sick & tired of calls and emails which have netted nothing). I was told that I can go to the customer centre & deal with a consultant. If they deem it necessary they'll get a manager for me to talk to? I have been dealing with consultants; supervisors; team leaders & middle management since August 2016 & still have no decent answers. So here I am - still being treated with severe prejudice, African Bank STILL not doing anything to assist me, so I STILL have no way forward....isn't that just grand?
