Refusal for a payment break

So, I know and I've heard of a payment break for the African bank loans. i think I've even had it a few years ago. I called two weeks back, requesting one as i have another debt to close this month. i spoke to three different people who explained to me how this can't be done, because it is a system automated thing and no human being can trigger it for me. They dont even know what criteria the system uses to select qualifying accounts for payment breaks. This is so ridiculous, I have never ever skipped a payment, there is no way I can, because they are the first to debit my aco**** every time I get paid. Nonetheless, the last person I spoke to told me to call today, so he can set their billing system not to debit my account and then we can talk payment arrangements later. Guess what, when I call today, I'm told that's also not possible. The least they can do is arrange for a lesser payment this month, do I have a choice, NOPE, I just had to take that option becasue I'm the one begging here. This so wrong, what if I didn't call and the debit order bounced? What are the banks doing to help their clients? Systems are built by people so if their system doesn't select me for a payment break why can't they override it and do it for me because I'm asking? I'm very hurt by this experience, I've been treated like a bad payer, and I know that I'm not.
