Reckless lending by African Bank

I have loan accounts with African bank that I had to make payment arrangements on due to health problems. First off all I feel that it was reckless lending on African bank side to grant me two loans when clearly I could not really afford it. But I suppose how would the bank make money otherwise. I did not want the accounts to go into default and to reflect negative on my ITC so I made an arrangement with African bank to pay what I can afford on a monthly basis. To date I have not defaulted on the payment arrangement that I have made with them. So imagine my surprise when I tried applying for car finance and was declined do to a default account on my ITC. I did not understand what is happening. So I contacted the finance company and was told the default account is African Bank. African bank has listed me on ITC for a default regardless off the fact that I have been paying them every month for the past five years and have not once skipped a payment. So that means I will never be able to get finance on anything as a result off the way they listed it on ITC. It does not help sending in a dispute to Experian or any other credit buro as they do not update their system or even look at the dispute. The funny thing is I was told by consultant that as long as I have the payment arrangement and don't default on it the loan accounts will not be listed on ITC as I am making an effort to pay and have signed a acknowledgement off debt with them. So why did they go and list me. As far as I am concerned African Bank is a reckless lender that then charge the clients a huge amount off interest on those loans so the client is never able to repay those loans. My initial loans together was under R200k. Now five years later they have charged so much interest I now owe an additional R250k. My next step will be the banking ombudsman if African bank does not remove or fix the listing on Experian as this is affecting my life.
