R500 Reward Offer Felt Misleading

I was advised by one of the African Bank consultants to switch my salary and debit orders to African Bank to qualify for the R500 reward. I was informed that I would receive the reward as soon as my first salary was reflected in the account.

However, I have already received my salary three times through the account and still have not received the reward. I contacted customer service several times, but I didn't receive a response until I visited the branch. At the branch, I was informed that the reward was rejected due to “insufficient information.”

The problem is that nobody can explain what information is supposedly missing, not even the branch staff. I called again yesterday and was promised feedback, but nobody got back to me.

I'm following up because African Bank can see that my salary is being paid into the account. This experience is extremely frustrating and feels misleading, especially considering the promises made when encouraging clients to switch their salaries to African Bank.

I was promised feedback on the 16th of September, but I never received a call. To this day, no one has contacted me, and unfortunately, I am not surprised — this seems to be how they operate, with empty promises and misleading adverti*****ts."

Thank you for your response, but I have already spoken to an agent and explained my situation in detail. I am currently waiting for the feedback that was promised to me. What I do not understand is why I need to repeat my story again. African Bank already has my contact details and a record of my query. I was promised feedback on 16 September 2026, but nobody called me back. If African Bank knows about my case and has escalated it, why can't someone simply contact me with the promised update? This ongoing lack of communication is exactly what has caused my frustration. At this stage, I am not asking to explain my situation again. I am simply waiting for the feedback that should have been provided days ago.
