Paying insurance on a loan

Hello Peter .I took out a loan from African bank 1 and half years ago. I was told I need to also take an insurance for the loan just incase I loose my job( which was an obligation by the way), which the insurance will settle the loan if I loose my job .fast forward to today I still have my job wasn't fired from work and im just left few months to finish paying for the loan .what im trying to understand really ,is my money R179.22 that I have been paying for insurance going to come back to me since im still working .since I was told that the insurance was solely for covering my self just incase I loose my job nothing else .I think SA consumers are being ********** .because these kinds of insurance are there to make money from poor people .for them its a win win situation. Because should one not loose their jobs ,the insurance still keeps the money for themselves .
