Owed amount not decreasing

My name is Mpho Dube id number ***. <br> I seem to have a huge problem with my account . I took a loan last Year June 2015 and the amount am currently owing as per statement on calls R43 785( Ref ***) .FNB :-) R24089.04 paid to cheq a/c..067098 @ Real Time Cl. ***. 30Jul 10:45 and amount of R2026.3 and all this was the amount given from the institute . Since July been paying an amount of R1976 every month to date and to my surprise the current amount owed is R42 267.83 . Now this very much raising a concern because i have paid close to R18 000 and my owed amount doesn't seem to decrease . Now I feel like am being ********** as am paying twice the amount given and worse 9 months down the line the amount hasn't decreased, I fully understand these an interest rate annually but seems the interest here per month. What happened to the 18k paid? <br> <br> I want to be explained how come . <br>
