On 20 May 2026 I woke up to multiple unauthorized transactions debited from my African Bank account, all showing “Vodapay” as the reference. My debit card was in my wallet at home while I was asleep. I did not authorise, use OTP, or make any purchase.I reported the matter to African Bank immediately. They said funds went to Vodapay and could not investigate further. Vodapay asked for my bank statement and SMS screenshots, which I sent. After over a week, Vodapay closed the query and told me to contact my bank. African Bank now says my only option is to replace my card for R80. No provisional credit, no further help.Neither party is taking responsibility. My card was never out of my possession. If Vodapay received funds but has no record and the bank refuses to investigate, my account remains at risk. I request a full investigation, provisional credit, and waiver of the R80 replacement fee since the compromise was not my fault.
