No Support During Hardship and Now Constant Harassment Despite Payments
I am absolutely disgusted with the service I have received from African Bank. I fell into arrears after being placed on temporary disability for 11 months, during which time I was not receiving my full salary. However, I did not stop paying — I continued to make payments based on what I could afford at the time. This is the reason I fell into arrears, not because I neglected my account. Despite explaining my situation, there was no real effort made to assist me — no attempt to restructure or reduce my instalments during an incredibly difficult period. Now that I am back at work, I am paying my full instalments every month and even paying extra to try and bring my account up to date. Yet, instead of support, I am being bombarded with calls — up to 25 calls a day, without exaggeration. This is completely unacceptable. The constant calling is intrusive, stressful, and feels like outright harassment, especially when I am clearly making every effort to meet my obligations. I am deeply frustrated that a customer who has tried their best throughout a difficult period is treated this way. I expect African Bank to urgently address this behaviour, limit the excessive calls, and treat customers with basic respect and understanding. If this continues, I will have no choice but to escalate the matter further.
We hope to talk to you soon.

I would like to clarify that I am not refusing to engage, however I request that all communication be done in writing for now due to the excessive number of calls I have been receiving daily.
My original complaint relates to:
The lack of support during my period of temporary disability
Continued arrears despite me making consistent payments based on affordability at the time
And the excessive number of calls I am currently receiving (up to 25 calls a day), which is extremely stressful and unacceptable.
I am willing to engage and resolve this matter, but I request that it is properly addressed in writing so that there is clarity and accountability on both sides.
Kindly respond to my complaint directly via this platform.

At this stage, I need to point out that my complaint has still not been addressed in any meaningful way. The responses I am receiving appear generic and automated and do not engage with the actual issues raised.
To reiterate clearly, my complaint is about:
Excessive daily calls (up to 25 per day)
Lack of assistance or restructuring during a period of temporary disability
My continued effort to pay my full instalments every month, including extra payments, despite the above challenges
I am requesting that this matter is escalated to a real case manager or complaints resolution officer who will respond directly to the issues raised, in writing.
I am also willing to complete identity verification through secure channels, however this should not delay or replace addressing the complaint itself.
Please confirm the name and contact details of the person who will be handling my complaint going forward, and provide a substantive response to the issues raised.
