My Life is on hold.... No one is bothered to explain.
In August 2019, I enrolled in Debt Review and included two loan accounts from African Bank. In April last year, I successfully completed the process ahead of schedule and was issued a clearance certificate. At that point, I felt a great sense of relief and optimism, believing I had turned a new page and could begin rebuilding my financial life.
However, to my disappointment, I recently discovered that African Bank is the only creditor that has recorded missed payments on my credit report. This is particularly confusing, as I had consistently paid more than the amount stipulated in the court order.
I reached out to your team via the debt counselling email address seeking clarity on this matter, but I received only an automated response stating that both my accounts are closed. While I understand that the accounts may be closed, my concern is about the impact this reporting has on my credit record. I am simply requesting guidance on how to address or rectify this issue—if it can be resolved—and clarity on what these missed payment records mean in the context of my completed Debt Review.
It is incredibly frustrating to feel like my life is on hold again, particularly after working so hard to regain financial stability. I would truly appreciate a response from someone who can assist with this matter, or at the very least, provide direction on the next steps.
