Incorrect Debit

On 22 June I called the African Bank Call Centre and changed my Debit Order date from the 20th to the last day of the month effective July and I even received a Ref number confirming the change. I then made a provision for one debit order which I couldn’t change on time. To my bitter surprise I noted that African Bank has decided to debit my account on the 20th July instead of the last day of the month. I called today and spoke to Salome with regards to the reversal of these funds as my debit order will go off on the 21st and I made provision for this. I am not happy about the fact that I am now forced to get a bank statement and pay for that whereas I did not make an error but it’s African Bank that did. I sent African Bank a screen from my bank which proves that a debit order of the amount R504 went off today. I received a response that I did not send the Bank Statements. Why should I send the Bank Statements and be the one that is inconvenienced for their mistake? I need my funds reversed by end of day 20 July in order for my debit order to successfully go off on the 21st. They know exactly that they debited my account on an incorrect date and instead of correcting their mistake they are now inconveniencing me. I’ll be ****ed if I’ll let African Bank and any other creditor for that matter to mess up my credit record should my debit order which I provided for will turn out to be unpaid.
