Harassment in workplace by African bank

I am most frustrated with African bank and the way in which you conduct business.

I currently have a payment arrangement on my accounts which I am honoring every month and debit orders are running of my account as per the arrangements please check my profile.

On Monday 19-08-2024 I was on the phone with a consultant from African bank by the name of Thabo Lephiale at around 11:33 am of whom I was discussing my accounts and while on the call with him I even made an additional payment to African bank using my card details, this consultant even told me he will make a reminder on his system to call me the first week of September to set up the arrangement for the September and the next 3 months of payment of which I was fine with as this has been the practice for the past months whereby I have been communicating with African bank monthly regarding my arrangements via the phone and after arrangements been made I receive smses to confirm the arrangement and African bank has always been able to contact me via my cellphone number.

I want to make something very clear to African Bank firstly that I am very well aware that I am in arrears and owe African bank money and it is for this reason that I comply and make my payment arrangements every month and I have the debit orders to prove this. I cooperate so I really do not appreciate being made to feel like a ******** because after having a good conversation with the call center consultant Thabo on Monday and me thinking that I will expect his call again in September I then receive a call on Wednesday on my WORK LINE by a man named Mr. Sithole claiming to be a representative of African Bank and him stating to me that he wants to come and see me to discuss my accounts.

I was immediately livid by receiving this call on my work line as this is a personal matter and he should have contacted me on my cell phone when I told him he cannot discuss my personal matters on my work line and is to call my cellphone as does African Bank he was insistent that he has been calling my cell phone and claiming that I am not answering of which I have NOT received any call from him. I then told him I’m not prepared to discuss this matter on my work line and neither am I prepared to meet him because I am dealing directly with African bank via the phone and he is to contact my cellphone of which he said he would call me immediately on my cell phone and he did not.

The today 23-08-2024 while I am on duty in my office, Mr.Sithole appears at my workplace and comes to my office UNANNOUNCED, he has the audacity to tell me that he called me on Wednesday to inform me that he would be coming to see me, knowing very well that I did not make an arrangement or agree to meet him and now in my office wants to discuss my accounts, so please tell me AFRICAN BANK what is it that I am speaking to the consultants every month on the phone about ??? that now I’m getting harassed with visits at my work place and I am expected to now speak to this man about the very same thing that I’m in direct communication with African bank about via the phone.

When I told this man I did not agree to meet him then this man while in my office is again adamant and insistent that his tried more than 5 times to call my cell phone and said I’m not taking his calls of which I had to show him my cell phone call log to prove to him that I did not receive any calls and yet he kept saying his been calling me, after which he provided me with the cellphone number of “MINE” which he says his been trying and only to find that he did not even have the correct cell phone number of mine and was evidently calling someone else but was adamant that he was calling me and accusing me of not taking his calls.

My place of employment has nothing to do with African bank or its employees, African bank has no right to send people to my workplace to discuss a personal matter in a time when I am being paid by my employer to perform my work duties. Does African bank want me to lose my job due to me tending to personal matters during my working hours ??? how would you get payment monthly if this should happen??

I have not committed a crime and I do not appreciate being made to seem like a ******** when I am in contact with African Bank every month and you are receiving monthly debit orders, your institution is causing an embarrassment for me in my place of work. I do not deserve this type of treatment and I have not been avoiding African bank so this type of visit is not warranted at all. I have been cooperating with African bank from the time I went into financial difficulties and was unable to pay my full installments, I do not know what more does African bank want from me because evidently making monthly payments and sticking to my payment arrangement is not enough that I am not being harassed in my place of work.

I want feedback and a way forward regarding this.
