Failure to keep their word
I am a 58 year old cardiac sufferer who was retrenched. I acknowledge that I am indebted to African Bank and sent them all documentation relating to my retrenchment etc. I requested that they stop the debit orders as I am living off my UIF benefits which are all I have. They still deducted instalments from November to date despite me corresponding with their consumer advocate explaining that the only income I have is my UIF benefits which will shortly run out.

I informed them that when I obtain gainful employment I shall continue with my payments. I have phoned them non stop since Monday 23 February 2015 and they have not rep**** to my requests. I have e mailed the consumer advocate and again no response .I have requested them to reverse the deductions and as stated I have heard nothing from them.

They are deducting my government UIF benefits which are intended for me to survive.
