Debit order still go off after settling account

<p>We decided to settle and close the African Bank credit card because of the payment structure of the credit card. So we requested and received a settlement letter for the credit card on 10 November and paid this letter in full on 13 November. Since then we have made numerous visits to branches and even more phone calls to confirm that the money was received and that the account was closed and cards were cancelled. We asked them on numerous occations to confirm that the debit order will NOT go off end of the month and they were confirmed that the debit order will NOT go off. Well guess what, the debit order went off this morning. I am disgusted as to the incompetency of African Bank. Is this their way to keep us clients? I need someone to contact me and explain how you wil refund us and close this card once and for all.</p>
