Credit card account after retrenchment

I previously had an account with African Bank and when I got retrenched it got paid up. Now they have debited my account without consent. After I've been going to the branch as the account is messing up my credit profile to fix it. When I apply for jobs I'm asked about owing African Bank and get penalised for it.
