Bank rewards programme

Hi, I am trying to understand the changes made to your MyRewards benefits. On the old system, accountholders were rewarded with R150 for making 10 purchases per month of at least R50 each. Now the system has chanegd where 0.3 points are rewarded for every Rand swiped on the card. According to the Checkers/Shopright voucher for instance, 5300 points are required for a R50 voucher. This amounts to about R17600 required to have been spent. If I understand this correctly then, there is practically no real benefit here?

I can appreciate that the bank is not obligated to run this rewards programme, but why has the system shanged so radically that it seems to have lost all value?
