Bad experience and lack of clarity

I app**** for a credit card with African Bank, and I had to apply twice within a period of two week. This has an impact on my credit record as it lowers my credit score. I went insolvent in 2009 and automatically rehabilitated after 10 years we are now in 2024. The agent I spoke to said they do not assist anyone who was insolvent before even if they have been rehabilitated because it is their policy. Does this mean that someone is condemned for life? I sent the letter from the lawyers stating this, I was told that is how they operate.

The process to get feedback takes time and no one seems to know what they are doing or talking about, they just parrot a certain line.

This is the worst experience I have ever received from a financial institute. I was sent back and forth every single day.

If African bank does not assist people who have been rehabilitated after insolvency they should make it clear on their website so that we don't apply, as it only lowers someone's credit score.

This has been a waste of my time and resources.

Thank you for your patience and for sharing your feedback with us. We genuinely regret that you are still unhappy with the outcome of your application.

We understand your concerns, but after careful consideration, we must stand by our decision in this instance. Our credit-granting criteria are based on a set of internal policies and regulatory requirements, and the Bank also complies with the provisions of the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 in this regard.

We appreciate your understanding and are sorry we couldn’t meet your expectations this time. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to reach out

No, don't appreciate my understanding because I do not. Put something on your website so that we do not apply.

Put this on your website: "If you were ever insolvent we cannot assist". Its that simple. Don't waste people's time.

Train your people and have better processes in place, at the moment no one knows what they are doing, you are so disjointed.
