Appalling business Ethics by Standard Bank

We app**** for an additional bond to our current one almost 2 months ago. We app**** at the Cavendish Branch, the application was approved and we were told it would take a few days for the registering attorneys to make contact with us. Well, a week went by, then two and still nobody made contact with us. We then had to make contact with Standard Bank again to ascertain why it was taking so long. To our horror our application was cancelled ( with no notificatiom from Standard Bank) because the consultant that assisted us did not upload the correct information?!

We then had to go back into the bank and reapply for the bond. Again we were told that it would take a week for the registering attorneys to make contact with us. A week later we met with the attorneys and signed all the relevant documentation and were told that it would take two weeks for the transfer to take place.

Four weeks later and the matter remains unresolved. This time the issue is that because we have our own home insurance Standard Bank does not seem to impressed with us and have done nothing but delay the entire process with no end in sight!

There has been constant mails back and forth between myself and the registering attorneys to Standard Bank requesting feedback and Standard Bank contunue to disregard their customers.

I will be lodging a formal complaint with the Ombudsman reporting in detail, the ********* business pratice and imcompetence of Standard Bank.

I am highly disgusted and will never recommend Standard Bank to anyone i know. The funny thing is they have a 3 tier escalation process, neither of which actually serves the customer in resolving their complaint! What kind of business allows a complaint to get to level 3??? In these tough economic times a complaint should be resolved immediately, because you need your customers to survive!

Shame on you Standard Bank!
