Good day

I am client id : ********** 264089

I am sending this mail as a result of unfair and ********* behavior from African bank and its debt collectors vvm…it was regarding an outstanding loan I had but have since settled it, I went to the African bank branch after receiving an sms for a discount on my outstanding loan I had with them, and decided to go to the bank to make use of this opportunity, my loan was initially on a balance of R7350…and was told that I would receive ..i would be offered a settlement discount on that, I then went to the branch in boulders mall midrand, were I managed to speak to a consultant, who then phoned the head office, to confirm this discount. They gave me a discount from the head office of 40% ..i agreed to the discount and agreed to settle the account there on.

The consultant from the head office confirmed with me on the recorded line regarding this…but after confirming, he then introduced news to me regarding outstanding legal fees, that I had to pay vvm debt collectors, I was told that on top of the amount I was going to pay I had to pay vvm debt collectors too…I disputed this, and was given contact numbers to contact vvm.

I then contact vvm to inform them about my dispute, of which they then send me an sms agreeing to the discount I received at the branch and informed me that , that was all I had to pay…they then send me their Absa account number and requested that I pay. This amount, to have them begin the process of drafting me my setting and paid up letter…

I then transferred money from my capitec account into their account, and emailed prove of payment…

However after I had made payment, the consultant from vvm debt collectors. Phoned me to acknowledge having received prove of payment, and then told me I was still liable for additional amounts ..on top of the payment I had made to settle this account.

I went back to the midrand branch to discuss this issues, but the advisor there was rude and arrogant. And asking me who I am expecting should pay this legal fees, and that until I had ,made payment to vvm I will not be granted my paid up letter.

It is through that that, I request assistance form the ombudsman, I will also be drafting a complaint on hello peter to voice my concerns regarding this.
