African Bank Privacy breach and Theft

This is the second time I am now posting this case again. African Bank is not sorting this out, so I will continue .

This is the letter I have now written after my branch complaint, where I was told to deal with the ombudsman, and to this letter I received an auto reply, saying they need to POPPI ACT verify me first before dealing with my complaint, but they sure as hell didn't need to do that when they took my money out of my account.!!! Interesting!!!

Dear African Bank Customer Service,

I am writing to formally report and request immediate investigation into discrepancies I have observed in my African Bank account.

Account Details:

Full Name: Christiaan Mulder Viljoen ID Number: ******** Account Number: ******** Contact Number: ******** Email: ******** Nature of Discrepancy: On the 8th March 2025, I noticed the following inconsistency:

I noticed two different credits into my account for moneysends that had expired each to the value of R700. The following day, I noticed one had been reversed without my authorisation and I immediately used payshap to pay the other R700 to my tymebank account. I received a transaction fee for this, but the money never reached my tymebank account. Then, there were more unauthorised transactions with descriptions in statement screenshots attached to this email. Furthermore, strange descriptions like "payment by proxy IND" on the 26 March 2025.

The issue I'm having is that African Bank does not update my account with regards to debits in real time, sometimes holding transactions off for up to 3 weeks, making it impossible to operate my account as I do not know what my actual running balance is, causing me huge embarrassment at times, when my payment doesn't go through, then also attracting a R10 penalty fee. Furthermore, when I went in Branch at Adderley Street and brought this to their attention, my complaint being the cashsend expiry. I was told by consultant at I'd receive feedback within 24 hours. I did receive feedback, and all it was, was that the problem has been resolved. Which was unacceptable, as my monies had been taken out of my account without my permission and I was left with fees and bank would offer no further explanation other than I should take it up with the ombudsman.

So this is now my last attempt to not escalate it to ombudsman, but I need satisfactory answers and resolution herein, on all my complaints above with screenshots as evidence.

This transaction/activity does not reflect any authorization from my side. I have attached screenshots/statements as evidence. Kindly investigate this matter and provide a resolution urgently.

Requested Actions:

Immediate freeze or investigation into the transaction(s) in question. Reversal or credit of the disputed amount. Confirmation of improved security or internal controls if this was due to system error or breach. Written confirmation of the outcome and timeline for resolution. Attachments:

Bank statements (relevant pages) Screenshots or evidence Please treat this matter with urgency. I expect a formal written response and a case reference number within 48 hours as per your standard service obligations.

Dear African Bank, this is my last warning to you to return the money you stole from me in August 2024. Your copy and paste bull**** opening to your emails don't really fool anyone and I have a word of advice for you. In your extreme greed and dishonesty, and in the light of, what can only be described as theft, you have missed a very vital little bit of information. And it cuts to the core of what you hold most dear in banking and I will expose this in a court case I will be filing against you, and I have no doubts, this will becone a class action case that will cost you more than what you can dream of right now.along with my ongoing demands to return my money with interest and damages.

I have prepared well and I'll accept no more ******* responses as per above. All I will accept is repayment, a letter of apology and interest and damages. And your deadline is Friday 23 January at 2pm. Thereafter, we go all the way. A wise proverb comes to mind and I quote" cut your nose off to spite your face". Pride and greed comes before the fall! C'est la vie!!
