African Bank Investment Account - SCARY SHORT PAYMENT OF INTEREST

Short paid interest by almost HALF that monthly due on my fixed deposit investment for July/August month. Statement also reflects this shortfall in black-and-white!

Call-centre is aware of issue, acknowledging many accounts in similar position, but can't promise when and how the balance will be credited. In the meantime, the compounding effect on the balance outstanding is being eroded.

Were African Bank too bullish in issuing a 13.33% effective return on maturation on 5 years, and now can't honor even the interest obligation to investors?? This is scary...

I'm going to refer this to the Ombudsman if no response and correction within 2 working days. Potentially scary given their history, all the advertising etc.
