After the excitement of scrolling through the exciting packages that @Africastay has to offer and the positive review comments of tourists, we felt compelled to use the services of Africastay.

The service consultants was initially quick when responding to holiday package enquiries and selection of the best fit holiday destination of our choice. The consultants service was elloquant and reassuring which provided a sense of reassurance.

During the initial stages of these discussions and quotes, we had explicitly requested for a late check out. The flight returning to JNB from Zanzibar was scheduled to depart on 18 Feb at 01:40 (local zanzibar time) as per the holiday package which the consultant had provided to us.

After frequent chats with a tour group that we informally formed at the resort, we were constantly encouraged to verify that the requested late check out was included as other holiday makers that booked with @africastay was faced with the same dilemma. To out horror, we were informed that a late check out was not included only meal/drinks had been covered in the additional charged called late check out supplement on my invoice and that the policy had changed (email requests was made to include a late check out during the original booking and this information was not communicated after the "policies" had changed). The 'late check out supplement fee' which was charged only covered the use of the facilities and not the room.

The purpose of this post is to highlight the lack of communication, poor professionalism and disregard of including specific requests that was made by us to a consultant from @Africastay. To add further stress, hotel staff informed us that due to booking demands, we were not guaranteed to have a room available which RUINED THE LAST THREE DAYS of our trip, including the out of package, specifically PAID for excursions. We were required to pay for, in foreign currency (100 USD), to secure an additional nights accommodation (directly with the resort)
