Agent is marking up *********ly

I booked a holiday through Africa Stay for 7 days at a luxury 5* hotel in Zanzibar, including flights and transfers. I should have run for the hills when I checked my invoice and saw that they had included over R1000 for travel insurance i hadn't asked for. When I asked for it to be taken off my invoice I was then told that the resort had increased the rate on that day and I was charged R1000.00 for that instead. At the same time I contacted the resort directly for a quote, but they took a while to come back to me and I paid Africa Stay for my booking. When the hotel did contact me they quoted me a per room price rather than a per person rate for that Africa Stay charged. When I did the math and worked out what it would have cost to book directly, Africa Stay charged me R16 960.00 in booking fees, around 28% mark up on the total cost to send me a quote, book a flight and hotel online. Wasn't I dumb to not look online first! Don't do what I did and don't use Africa Stay!
