Affordabuild - STAY AWAY!!

Mr. Mark Heywood, owner of affordabuild, not registered with NHBRC as he claims is not to be trusted when you need building or renovations done to your property. He claimed to be registered with the council, yet he is not. His building work is poor and done as cheap as possible. Quoted me for APPROVED plans, which I never received. Had a meeting with the architect, and he has also not been paid by Mr Mark Heywood. The cottage that was built is leaking, barge boards are falling off, exterior walls have not been plastered and painted, yet he states they are maintenance issues. As he is not registered with the NHBRC, I now have no recourse to pursue for damages, unless I hire an attorney, and maybe get some funds to repair. Repair quotes are running up to R120k for a job that was paid for in full. Total project cost was +- R 300k. Even his staff contacted me and said Mr Mark is a cheat, and that he is taking shortcuts. No building inspection was done or signed off during the process. Mr Mark Heywood is also not responding to any e-mails / phone calls from me. He is completely unwilling to rectify what he has done wrong. If I could just receive approved plans and a occupancy certificate, I will let the rest go and repair as and when I am able to. It has been a year since construction started, and I still have not been able to finalize this. DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN ANY BUSINESS, YOU WILL BE SORRY!!
