We have been ****med by the Director of Affluent Travel her name is Juanelle Chandre Olivier- Fortuin

When we started paying for our trip for Thailand in January, the agreement was that our flights and accommodation will be secured by Affluent travel and thereafter we will make payments towards the agent, as from End of February 2022, which we did. We were given until end of September to finish paying for the holiday.

The problem started in July when we started experiencing lack of communication from the company. We had to send numerous messages and emails for her to respond. The only time she responded to our messages was when we post on their Facebook page. This raised a lot of questions and suspicion from the group as a whole. We went as far as sending one person to go check the offices in Cape Town, unfortunately they were always unoccupied.

In August Janelle advised us that we need to pay the whole amount before she can book the flights and accommodation for us, which was not the initial agreement.

We finally paid this whole amount totaling R95,000 for a group of 10 ladies. Then she went AWOL until she decided to resurface and told us that she has taken a business decision to cancel our booking because we are ruining her reputation on social media! She promised to refund us on the 15th of September 2022, we are still waiting and now she's threatening us with attorneys when we demand our money back.

There was a lack of communication between us and Janelle that proves and explain why we ended up resorting to social media.

Unfortunately, it’s been 3 months now she promised us a refund to no avail. We have never involved any attorneys' letters and it raises a question as to how many people are waiting for their refunds.

There are now more than 30 people who have also come forward and confirmed that they have been duped by this young lady as well. A certain lady and her group lost around 205k

Juanelle still has the nerve to advertise her business and rob more people their hard-earned monies. Shame on her
