Waiting for Affinity and beyond!!!

Someone broke into my car on Sunday by smashing the front passenger door window, it is now Friday morning I still do not have a window in my car. If they cannot even deal with a simple claim about a broken window, how will they deal with a real claim? They were very quick to get my business, but when it comes to doing what I pay them to do they stall and try and find every loophole in the book.

I sent a email to my broker Monday morning first thing explaining everything that happened and later asked if I can go to PG Glass directly to move the claim along and get it sorted as soon as possible. I went to several places to get quotes for the replacement part, no one in Bethlehem had stock and I knew that I was going to wait for a few days. I went to PG Glass around 10am Monday morning as they were the only company that even offered to clean the mess and put a plastic covering on my window to protect my car from any further damage. PG Glass logged the claim with Affinity Monday afternoon at 15:15 and ordered the missing part already so that by Wednesday I can be fitted.

Only after I followed up I received a call from Affinity Tuesday afternoon to verify all the details. The person on the other side of the phone sounded like she was not in the mood of doing her job and then there were so much background noise that I could not actually hear what this person was saying. Then she had the nerve to ask me about previous claims details that was declared in detail when I started my policy. I believe now she wanted to have this information in order to find something that I did not declare so that they can have some ground to stand on for not paying the damages.

Since then there were a lot of talk, but no action. Thursday afternoon I heard that they authorized the replacement of the window with another company that I don't know, have never heard of - The glass group. I then spoke to the insurance and said that I am no longer going to wait and that I demand that it be fitted through PG glass as they already have the stock and my car is ready to go to them. PG glass then phoned me later that afternoon and said that Affinity is now trying to get another quote from Glassfit, but on a wrong part number. Now all of a sudden the quote from PG glass is too expensive, but yet the quote I got from Renault itself for just the window itself is exactly the same except it does not include the fitment. So either they are trying to get cheap parts or they are trying to stall so that I get so fed up and pay the damages out of my own pocket.

This is not even talking about the items that were ******, this is just to get the damages fixed so that I can actually continue to use my car. Its not even talking about all the phone call expenses that occurred trying to sort this out.

I do have evidence of the correspondence (including history and notes of the claim) between myself, the broker, PG Glass and Affinity.
