STAY FAR AWAY FROM AFFINITY UNDERWRITING MANAGERS / LION OF AFRICA INSURANCE!!!

If it were possible to rate a zero I would. I made the worst mistake of my life by taking cover with Affinity Underwriting Managers / Lion of Africa Insurance. My vehicle was involved in an accident on the 24th February 2019. On the 29th April 2019 I received a rejection letter from Daniel Specht of AAA Claims stating that the claim had been rejected due to the vehicle not having a certificate of fitness. However, I had explained to Mr Johann Spies from Eagle Claims Verification that I had app**** to get a certificate of fitness in November of 2018 and was still waiting. He asked me to produce the proof of application- but before I could do so I received an sms to say that he had already submitted the documentation to Affinity and the claim was being verified??? He could not give me even one day to produce the document- which I sent to him the following day!!!

Nonetheless, on the 30th April, after receiving the rejection letter, I emailed Mr Daniel Specht asking about the process of retrieving my vehicle- as it was only through the letter that I was informed that my vehicle was store at SMD Boksburg. I asked him what is the inspection process to follow, as I had not seen my vehicle since the 18th March when it was towed from JMPD and taken to Steimar Autobody so that it could be assessed. No response.

I paid R4398.76 to retrieve my car from SMD Boksburg on Friday the 10th May 2019. When I inspected the vehicle with my mechanic, the entire vehicle had been stripped.

-The entire engine wiring has been cut. -The battery terminal wires have been cut and taken. -The computer box and modules have been taken -Panels have been stripped -Speakers cut and taken -Seatbelts cut -Fans have been swopped with broken ones- mine were not broken at the initial accident scene and when we inspected the car continuously while it was at JMPD..

I literally no longer have a vehicle?? SMD sent proof (photos) that when they received the vehicle from the insurance it was already in stripped condition!!! However, Affinity Underwriting Managers refuse to take any kind of responsibility! They do not want to show me any kind of evidence of the condition in which they received the vehicle when I signed it over to them. They also do not want to produce any evidence from the assessor's report (as I would like to believe that any assessor would have seen a vehicle with no wiring at all or electrical components) as they are now trying to claim that I gave them the vehicle like that??!! They are taking NO accountability and refuse to take any kind of responsibility. I have paid all my premiums in good faith, yet they can't even so much as provide evidence of the damages they assessed on my vehicle and are hiding the assessor's report!!!

Not only did they reject my claim unfairly, they then stripped my vehicle of ALL its parts before returning it to me. It is now a back and forth situation with the Key Individual not showing any willingness to resolve the matter, but they are trying to put the blame onto me. It is going onto 5 months now and I continue to suffer business losses. I reported the case to the Ombudsman on the 27th May. They have still not received a response from my insurer.

STAY FAR - VERY FAR- AWAY FROM AFFINITY UNDERWRITING MANAGERS AND LION OF AFRICA INSURANCE!!! They are not transparent in any of their processes and do not treat their customers with any kind of respect or fairness.
