Poor Service in my time of need
On 29 January 2018 at approximately 17h30 I was hit by a taxi in Midrand's Gallagher Avenue and on 30 January 2018 I laid a claim for the accident and the car was collected and taken to the panel beater after confirming which panel beater would perform the repair (Riverside Auto Body) and the assessor that would perform the assessment of the damage.
Authorization was finally given to the panel beater on the 09th of February - which I felt was very slow service from AAA Claims, but I was relieved that it was now approved for repair (the car). The panel beater only started working on the car on the 22nd of Feb - again, VERY slow service as in this whole time I am left inconvenienced in numerous ways. I have tried getting a completion date from the repairer, but even there I am not impressed with the service as they constantly claim that "we received authorization late and the parts also took long to source and we don't know how it will be with the panel beater as the extent of the repairs is a lot so we cannot give you a completion date".
The fact that they cannot give me a completion date means that they are not willing to commit to anything in terms of me getting the car back the fact that they are saying the "extent of repairs is a lot" means that this will not be a car I can rely on.
Again, I am inconvenienced greatly with a service provider for the repair that seems to be taking an all too relaxed approach to the repair of my car and have today gone a full month without a car and no compensation for their delays to the repair because I at least expected a rental car to help me move about, especially with the recent incident this past Sunday where my daughter was having an asthma attack and needed to go to hospital an I had to find which friend I had that would be able to transport us as I DID NOT HAVE A CAR TO HELP MY CHILD and yet you as my insurer will be very prompt in debiting the premium when the time comes. she needs to go back to the hospital on Friday to have tests done on her lungs and blood work and how am I to accomplish that when left stranded and with no answers?! I expect assistance with this and if the car seems to need so much work as the panel beater claims then clearly it is a write off that cannot be on the road anymore because it essentially needs to be rebuilt for the ground up, from their assessment
I have emailed Affinity at 09h35 and they promised to give me a response and to this time of day (14h15) I have not been contacted.
