Exorbitant Excess High Than Repair Value Unnecessarily.

I drove over a tire (judging from the size of the tire, it was from a truck) that was lurking on an M4 Freeway in Durban (Jacobs) around 8 pm. When I called the insurance, they gave me 3 reasons why my excess was skyrocketing at R24900.

Firstly; R14900 calculated at the cars market value (7%) Secondly; An additional R5000 since didn't own a Code 8 drivers license but 10 Thirdly; There was no third party involved so an extra R5000 added to my already high insurance.

Total R24 900 excess.

What is the use of vehicle insurance when I need help, excuses, on top of excuses and help, is not made available to you?
