Why beg for my money? and wait if you never waited

I took out medical with affinity. unfortunately the company i worked for refuse medical insurance and insist on medical AID. they took my debit order the 25th of may 2015. i notified them (within my 30 day cooling off period) that i have to cancel due to them being a medical insurance and not a medical scheme. i put in my cancellation on the 1st of June 2015. today is the 18th and they only responded now that my refund was approved and i must wait another 14 working days before i get my refund?
WHY? i did not tell them to wait 14 working days to take the money from my account?
at first i had excellent service...to get my details yes...and now? i cant get my money back?

the service is horrible...the response time is pathetic....imagine i did join them...how would you struggle to sort out your medical bills etc?

my opinion the WORST ever service and i will no longer advise my friends and family of Affinity!

Hello nickeyv,

Thank you for reporting your experience on Hello Peter.

Yes you are correct in stating that Affinity Health in fact a Medical Insurance, and this is made quite clear in all our communication as well as our website. This is also stipulated on the sales call in which you agreed to these terms and conditions.

We do state in our policy documentation that you are entitled to a refund of your first premium if you decide that the policy will not meet your needs, We acknowledged your refund request and you were provided with feedback that it was being processed.

Since our last communication with us,in which we advised you that there are processes in place for refunds to be actioned, your refund was processed and paid out on the 19th of June 2015.

We trust that you find the above in order.

Kind Regards,
The Affinity Health Management Team
